This is my watercolor painting of Mt.Si, with a Disney twist to it. A skill that was important in this painting that I learned from my previous Disney painting was to have lighter colors in the background to show like it is farther away in the distance compared to the things closer up, which should be darker. The main art elements I used was color and sizing, to show how the trees sizes go from tall to short in the back. I believe that it creates movements and the dots create emphasis on the mountain and trees. This painting gives off a feeling of mystery.
This is my choice project from a previous assignment called boxes in space (2-point). I decided to add a twist to the assignment and do it in colored pencil, unlike before when I only used pencil. I did not learn any new skills from this project, but I did notice that if I color the sides of the boxes it makes it look more 3d. The main art elements are color, lines and shape to create movement in my drawing. This expresses a good feeling because the colors are so bright and cheerful.
This is my bright landscape, with a sunlight effect to make it really look like it is bright. A new skill I learned was how to add value to the mountain to show which parts are coming more forward and what part is lighter to represent being farther away. I used value, colors and proportion In this painting to create emphasis more towards the mountain as the main design. This painting expresses a feeling of happiness, because sunlight always makes me feel happy!
This is my watercolor painting of Mount Si. This is the dull landscape photo, which means I used colors such as browns, red, peach and greens to make it look more of a dull picture. A new skill I learned was how to mix some of the colors to create others. For example, instead of using just brown from the paints, I mixed red and green to create this brown color. The main art elements are proportion/size, color and value. This picture expresses a more sad-like depressing feeling since the colors are so dull.
This is my version of my macro still life of a flower with a pair of scissors going across. A new skill that I learned was how to combine two objects and make it look like a whole. I never would have imagined to add an inanimate object to my flower painting, but it actually looks really cool. The main art elements I used is proportion/size, color and unity/harmony. This picture sets a wonder tone, since it is wonder some why I paired scissors with a flower, but I wanted to create the illusion of a flower just being cut.
This is my 3-view self portrait of myself. I used watercolor paints to make this image and have it look so vibrant in color. A new skill that I learned was how to shade properly to make the picture look more 3d. The main art elements in this painting are color, lines, and form to create emphasis and proportion throughout the painting. This pictures sets off a happy mood because of the expression on my face.
This is my sketch of myself. A new skill I learned from this drawing is how to shade to make the drawing look 3d. If you look at the sketch it looks a lot more realistic with the darker shading than it would without it. The main art elements I used is form, lines and shape, which helped create the proportion in the drawing. I really enjoyed this drawing, even though it took me many times to accomplish a successful drawing. This picture shows a sense of happiness and joy, by looking at the expression on my face.
This is my beautiful painting of the trees outside the school. A new skill I learned was to make sure, especially when paining the grass and sky, to add layers on top of each color. It will give it a more realistic and vibrant look. The main art elements I used are color, and mines to create proportion/ sizing and as well as unity and harmony for when they all go together to create one peaceful image. This painting expresses a feeling of delight and calmness, because of the peaceful nature setting it shows.
This is my hallway drawing of the hallway that leads into the Language arts department. A new skill that I learned is you have to have your two vanishing points coming off of the paper, so to make the points you need to connect two pieces of paper to the sides of your drawing and find the two vanishing points. The main art elements are lines and value, which helps visualize proportion and scale in my drawing. The mood of this drawing is a mutual feeling, because even though it is a nice drawing of a hallway, school is not always everyone's favorite place to be at, or draw for a matter of fact. This is my two point perspective drawing. Something new I learned was how to do a drawing using a two point perspective, instead of using one point. I really enjoy using 2 point perspective, because it makes the objects look three dimensional and look awesome. The art elements used are lines and value, which creates movement and space in my drawing. This expresses a feeling of wonder and challenge, because to me, it looks like a puzzle being put together.
